LinkedIn rolled out their new Contacts - an automated contact management service for desktop and iPhone on Thursday in limited release. The result of the acquisition of Connected - Contacts replaces the old tab and acts as a place to keep up with your connections, LinkedIn or otherwise. People can connect Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook accounts to import their contacts and calendar events from those services. The app also works with your iPhone address book, Twitter, Facebook, CardMunch, TripIt, and Evernote.
It only took me a few minutes to fall in love. It's now my default address book on the iPhone. This is certainly going to get a lot more people going to LinkedIn on a daily basis.
I should also point out CardMunch - another LinkedIn acquisition. The iOS app is FREE - and it allows you to take pics of business cards you collect and send them to the cloud where they are actually transcribed by HUMANS and the contact info is added to your LinkedIn contacts. Pretty amazing ... and free. Check out the video below -
